Course Overview

Everything in mathematics begins with sets — the foundation for logic, algebra, probability, and beyond. In this course, students will explore how to classify, compare, and connect groups of objects using the precise language of set theory.

Through Set Theory 1, you’ll discover what sets are, how they’re written, and how to describe relationships between them. In Set Theory 2, you’ll dive deeper into set operations such as union, intersection, and complement, and use Venn diagrams to visualize relationships. Finally, in Set Applications, you’ll put your knowledge into practice by solving real-world and exam-style problems involving two sets.
